Editing log 1

I don't really enjoy filming all that much because I don't think I'm that good with using a camera or getting the best shots, but I do really enjoy editing. I like slowly watching a video come together and I find it a really fun process, especially in this case with a music video, as syncing the video with the song I find to be really satisfying.

First step is obviously to import the song and start filtering through the footage I have captured and working out which parts of the footage will appear where in the song. Of course during the filming stage I had already planned which shots will be used during each verse/chorus/bridge of the song, and so this process was quite easy. The shots involving the mirror and the bed during sunlight were used for the first verse and first chorus, the shots outside as well as the bed at night were used for the second verse and second chorus, the shots involving the curtain were mostly used during the bridge and all of the shots were finally used in the final chorus to close the song. I find that splitting up the video in recognisable sections like this makes the video a lot more cohesive to watch, as opposed to just randomly splicing up shots wherever.

Here is a glimpse at my timeline at this current moment.
